Sasha Allen, the openly-transgender woman who sang transgender, making it onto the Live Shows on The Voice made history as they made it there. Sasha Allen was the very first during the 21 years of The Vocal contests Sasha was able to get past The Battle Rounds. This time, the pair from Newtown, Conn., have taken the show one step closer to making it to the top 8! Sasha has announced that he's transgender on the Blind Auditions package. He told Parade.com that it took a lot of thought before making the decision. "That was a really hard choice because you are showing a very vulnerable part of yourself to millions and billions of folks," said Sasha, whom he transitioned to while at high school. The support of the fans and the positive impact this has had on people, despite the fact that the choice was hard to make, was what really has convinced Sasha to make the change worthy. "We did it prior to when The Voice was even a feature for us. The moment we heard it, we were thrilled. We knew the tune and were thinking of ways to organize it. I was astonished by that the crowd have hit the nail on the head."
