She began her career in 1990, in a non Broadway show called The Big Funk, by John Patrick Shanley. A year later she was chosen for her first television role, The Perfect Tribute. In 1992, she got her first role as an actor supporting the character Basic Instinct. It marked the start of her career profession. The Firm marked her first part as a female lead actress, opposite Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. In the 90s, she worked with some of the biggest names in the field, such as Gwyneth Paltrow as Sliding Doors, Hugh Grant in Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews in Relative Values. Recently she played Dr Alex Blake in the internationally famous crime drama that is a police procedural Criminal Minds.
