Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born 25th August, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. Burrell was also an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spikey blonde locks and pump up personality, explains easy techniques any person can master. Chef Burrell has worked in some of the top restaurants within New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy as well as competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell, who grew up within New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. After earning an English and Communication diploma from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the business of restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent my most memorable time in my life. Culinary Institute of America was a great location to learn. After graduating, chef Burrell was in Italy for a whole year attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She also worked in La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin star restaurant) located in Tuscany. Her time spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, and this has left an impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to increase the quality of life for children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity ambassador and advocates awareness of children's diabetes. as a speaker, guest and mentor, she travels around the U.S. to share her culinary passion and profession. Anne has always been grateful she could share the passion of her life, and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
