Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shchenko is an Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay champion. She competes currently in the UFC Flyweight division. She is the older sister of the fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko first began fighting sports by becoming an Muay Thai kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut in her first IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals by unanimous verdict. Antonina followed it up and won a silver medal in 2007, a bronze award in 2008 a gold medal in 2011 and the 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia's professional journey began in 2003. In 2012 she won the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship, in 2016, she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 the WMC World Championships. Antonina was last seen fighting Isa Tidblad Keskikangas in The Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by unanimous vote. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut took place in 2002, during the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She won by TKO at the end of round 2 and then won her 2 subsequent fights, both at WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. She was awarded the record of 3-0 in MMA. Shevchenko stopped fighting to focus on the sport of kickboxing. Shevchenko returned against Anissahaddaoui in Phoenix FC 3. Shevchenko defeated Anissa in a unanimously-decided match before she fought Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. The league was dissolved in 2018, Shevchenko joined Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina utilized her fighting skills in order to TKO Nievera in the clinch with knees and body. Following this victory Antonina was given a UFC contract. Antonina Shychenko debuted for the UFC in the TUF Heavy Hitters finals against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took victory in a unanimous decision, but fell in the second round to Roxanne Modafferi on an undisputed split decision. Antonina recovered from this loss by defeating Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler through rear-naked-choke submission. This earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko lost 1-2 over the next three fights beating Ariane Lipski before losing to Katlyn Chookagian, and Andrea Lee. Antonina lost her last fight to Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos-Walker.
